Cheyenne, WY — Wednesday, March 24, the Zonta Club of Cheyenne will sponsor Alex Goyette as a part of their “Awareness Wednesdays” events. The free event will be hosted through Zoom on Wednesday, March 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
As Public Policy Associate with Tahirih’s Forced Marriage Initiative, Alex’s work focuses on the campaign to end child marriage in the U.S. Alex tracks legislation across the country, drafts and delivers legislative testimony supporting bills to end child marriage, and ensures that legislators and allied advocates have the information and materials they need to push for strong reforms that will protect children from forced marriage. Prior to joining Tahirih in 2017, Alex worked as a medical interpreter at Bayside Pediatrics in Annapolis, MD, and received an MA in International Affairs from American University in Washington, D.C.
